Your Year in Review
So its only a few more days until the new year and I know you are getting those new year resolutions ready. I want you to take this time to look back at this whole year that has past. I want you to think about everything. All the highs and lows and what got you to this point in your life. What could you have done differently and what is your plan to have a better year next year?
Sit down, get a piece of paper and a pen and get started. Start by writing down all the things that went on during the year and I do mean EVERYTHING. Some things we go through we might not think it will affect us and it does. We must re-evaluate everything in our life in order to have a happier one. Write down all the good things that has happen and all the bad ones.
Once you have written down EVERYTHING, take a moment to go over your list and put a star next to things your feel should not have happened or you felt it could have went better. Once you do that make another list of ways you can handle situations better and things you can do to prevent certain things from happening. Then make your goals for next year. Incorporate everything into your new goals and put this list and your goals up somewhere you will see it everyday so it is a constant reminder for you.
Don't be too critical on yourself just focus on becoming a happier and better you. Hope the new year is better than the last.

Your Weight is Not a Handicap
I wish those who are over weight would stop saying they can't do this or do that. You can do anything you want to do if your put your mind to it. Stop saying it's to hard and go for it.
Our mind is what keeps up from accomplishing things we would like to. You are the only one that can make a change in your life and nothing will ever change for the better if you don't get going and make things happen. The biggest problem is that most are looking for instant gratification and get discouraged when it doesn't happen. Many things takes time especially losing weight.
If losing weight is your plan (like many others)it will not happen over night. No matter what way you decide to do it, it is a process that takes a lot of education, understanding, accepting and executing. When you hear people say it is a lifestyle change they are not lying. The way you lose weight is the way you will keep it off.
If your waiting for the day you will wake up and stop hating your body, know that it is a process. The biggest thing is mental. You will be whatever you think you are. Until you understand and accept all aspects of your body you will think negatively. Yes you can love your body and have days when you don't, but if you never look in the mirror and say you love your body and mean it then its not true. You have to work on your inner self and mentally transform your thoughts. You have to make peace with your thoughts.
Life is not about instant gratification. Educating, understanding, accepting and then executing is what will bring you the best satisfaction. You can then appreciate who you are and where you want to be. Nothing will change without your effort. Time to turn over a new leaf. Don't wait until next year do it now.

Why I Cried For Burger King
I didn't actually cry for Burger King lol but I got emotional. I got emotional for two reasons. At the end it gave a new light to my binge and unhealthy eating habits and how strong I can be.
The first reason I wanted to cry was because I REALLY wanted some Burger King. I had to make a stop at the grocery store before I go home and its one right across the street. It was a combination of already being hungry and the aromas that floated my way. I'm so used to when I don't feel like making something to eat fast food is my next choice. Even when I've tried to loose weight other times my excuse was one meal wont hurt. Then one meal turns into two and two turns into three. Its a never ending cycle that's leads me to fall off my healthy eating. I knew that if I got Burger King last night I would always get fast food when I really craved it.
The second reason I wanted to cry was because I couldn't believe I got this emotional over fast food. Was it really that serious???? Am I more addicted to foods than I think??? I just might be. I though I was going crazy. How could you cry over not eating a food you want. Then it hit me that this is a test. It showed me my strength to not give in to temptation. I have been working hard at getting my healthy lifestyle back and I don't want to lose it. My health is more important than a burger. I DID NOT get anything from Burger King. Instead I went home and made my own burger. It was so much more rewarding knowing I didn't cave in and I stood strong.
I know I am not alone in situations like this. Many people who has been eating so poorly over a long period of time has times when all we want is one little taste of the foods we always loved. Is it worth it???? I think not. Giving in would have made me feel horrible. I would have felt regret, guilt, loss motivation and think bad about myself and my body. I feel a lot better and I know if was was able to make the right choice then I can continue to make the right choice.

Why Wait Until New Years
What's your reason to wait until New Years to make a change in your life???? If want to change bad enough why not do it now???
From what I have seen many people who make new year resolutions usually only stick to them for a few months. Every year becomes a cycle of making change in the beginning but sliding back after a few months. Although everyone is not the same, when people commit to a lifestyle change at a later point in the year they are more likely to stick with it.
So whats holding you back from losing weight or taking steps to embrace the skin you're in??? I fall into the resolution trap from time to time and I find that your mind has to be in the right place before a true change will happen.
For those going through the cycle of not sticking to their resolutions needs to understand that a mental change is also needed. You must get your mind in the right place before you will be able to make and maintain change. I say it all the time but we must learn, understand and love our bodies before we make change. It will make it that much easier for you.
You do not have to wait until the next year to turn a new leaf. Everyday is an opportunity to make a change.

Friday From Me to You
I hear it a lot that there is a fine line between being curvy/thick and fat. This comment doesn't make me upset but I know it hits a cord with others. Is the statement true????
I agree on the terms that even the smallest women can be curvy and the size difference of a size 10 curvy women verses a size 24 curvy women is very different. The same goes for being considered thick. Our levels of thickness can be drastically different as well. So where can we draw the line at???
I disagree at the points that people's opinions of what they consider curvy, thick and fat varies. You can definitely be plus size and have curves. I have a small waist, wide hips and big butt. Most women in family is this way. I am a size 18/20 and I have a stomach and I am far from skinny but being that I have a stomach does that mean I cant be considered curvy???
This is my dilemma, if there is a fine line between being curvy/thick and fat where is it?? And who will determine where that line is??? Everything is just an opinion at the end of the day. What is wrong with women who want to call themselves curvy or thick. If you don't agree that's fine but how does that hurt you. Your values and opinions on labeling the size of people is something you shouldn't force on others. Society is constantly changes and what we all need to be focused on is health at any size.

Bartender Labels Customers As “Fat Girls” On Receipt
Last Thursday, three plus size women visited Chilly D’s which is part of the Cameo Casino Restaurant. Everything went without incident until Jeff, the bartender typed in “Fat Girls” to keep track of the ladies bill. As if it would be to hard to label the table with something simple like table of three or the color of a shirt or something other than a rude remark.
Jeff forgot to change the identifier so when given the receipt it was still on there. When Christine Duran asked for an explanation, he had a smirk on his face as if there was something funny and he was trying not to laugh.
Upon voicing their complaint to the manager they were initially offered a 25% discount off the total bill which was $25.50. The initial discount was followed by a 50% discount. They declined both offers. The entire bill was eventually discounted as Jimmy Siemers, co-owner of Chilly D’s worked to clean up the mess. Although he didn’t work the evening of the incident, he said he is trying to clean up the mess.
He has more than a small mess to clean up. I hope that Jeff is reprimanded for his actions. It was completely unprofessional, rude and ignorant. That is not the only way he could have identified that table. He probably thought he was being funny, but at whose expense. Everyone gets talked about but when it comes to a business that is another form of discrimination. Hopefully Chilly D's and Jeff will learn from this experience.

Bringing Sexy Back
Every women has insecurities about their bodies. There will always be something you hate about it or don't want another person to see. When it's time to be sexy or intimate your insecurities can lead to a disastrous night. I want to help you get out your comfort zone to bring out that inner sexy. The more you work on it the easier and more comfortable it will become.
- Get familiar and explore your body. I say it all the time but looking at yourself naked often will help you accept it and love it. Everyday you should spend time in front of your mirror.
- Gradually buy sexy clothes like lingerie or sexy pajamas. Try things with a silk or satin material. Feeling those materials against your skin will help bring out your inner sexy.
- Maintain your feet and hands. You don't have to pay a lot of money for pedicures and manicures. Doing simple things like making sure there moisturized and nails are painted can keep you in a good mood.
- Another thing that's gets my sexy going is music. I am heavily into all kinds of music and certain songs just puts me in a zone. Try listening to some R&B slow songs. Even some throwback old school music can put you in the right mood.
- The most important thing is to get comfortable by yourself. We will all be a little uncomfortable from time to time when we are with a partner but being comfortable in your own skin will help.

Friday's From Me to You
The saying is true. Everything is easier said than done and I understand that but if you really want to make change then it will be done. What everyone needs to understand is that all things takes time. Loving your body, losing weight, getting married (lol) and etc. will take time to happen. People are too busy looking for that quick fix that they are not willing to put in the work to get there. It is and will always be easier to quit rather than to work hard for something.
Are you willing to do what you have to do to get to a happier you????? Are you ready to make sacrifices??? If your not ready then your road to loving your body will be harder for you. Its all about how bad you want it. The same goes for losing weight. If your not willing to put that fast food down don't expect to get a six pack. If your too busy being selfish don't expect to get that ring.
The steps it takes to loving yourself and your body can be very simple but it all about how bad you want it. For some who have other serious conditions like mental illness and clinical depression, the road to a happier self can take longer and requires more work.

He Didn't Want You Because of How You Acted, Not Because of Your Weight.
I hear a lot of women complain about not finding love or even getting a date because of their weight. Some times that can be true, but what women need to understand is that our actions may be the reason a man was turned off and don't want to date us.
The most important part of being in the dating world is to act the way you want the man to treat you. If you think dressing half naked or throwing yourself at men will get you your prince charming you are wrong. Men like a bit of a chase and I do mean a small chase not playing games. Your confidence should be the first thing a man can see in you. Even saying hello and your name should be said with confidence. That man should know what kind of women he is speaking to in the first FIVE minutes.
First thing is to dress the part. There is nothing wrong with being sexy just make sure you look respectful. Make sure your clothes fit and your are dressed for the occasion. Next is where you meet men. There is nothing wrong with meeting men at the club or online but be aware of what his intentions maybe and if he's crazy (lol). Next is the conversation you have with men. Sex should not be the topic of conversation on your first couple of dates. You should be getting to each other. Are you guilty of any of these?????
Last but not least is to not ignore the signs. If you find that you are never getting that second date, you may need to do some reevaluating within yourself. If you present yourself in a respectable woman manner you shouldn't have such a hard time dating. I know we are all looking for love and can't seem to find it, but it's one thing to not have chemistry with someone verses you making them uncomfortable. Next time you have a date, I want you evaluate how you acted when you get home.
Do you think you was doing to much???? And don't forget to ask your friend and others who are close to you about your dating skills. It is always good to get others opinions from a different point of view.

Look of the Week
It's that time of year again, holiday party time. My job Christmas party is this Friday and I am so excited. One because it's a new job and two because I've never worked anywhere that had Christmas parties. It took me a few days of online and store browsing to find the right dress. Advertisement Break
Americans spend there whole day seeing some type of advertisement with a model on it and what do some start to do???? Compare themselves to those models. We all know what comparing ourselves leads to and that's finding things we don't like about our bodies. So I want you to try and take an advertisement break.
Taking an advertisement break can help you in more ways than one. Not only can it save you money and time but the most important thing it will do is keep you mind clear to think positive about your body. I know it can be hard for you but it is so worth it in the end. I only want you to do this for ONE week to see if it will help you.
So what you will have to do is refrain from looking at any type of magazine that is not plus size. Do not watch commercials during your TV time. Do not go to any websites that are not plus size. Look at yourself in the mirror a few times throughout the day.
This is great for everyone not just those with low self esteem. Giving your mind the freedom to form its own opinion of things and focusing solely on your body can raise your confidence and self esteem regardless of how confident you are. So lets get started. After you read this choose a day to start and go for seven days. If you want to go longer excellent. I will love to hear how it went for you.
Everyday should be a day to do something to get you to a happier you :)
