My Top 5 Tips to Beat The Winter Blues

Winter is not my favorite time of year. Lets be honest it is freezing all the time (and for someone with anemia like myself I am an icicle). The snow and ice is the biggest inconvenience. You have to wear layers and layers of clothes, and people don't want to leave their homes. I don't mind the cold as much since I have moved south but I am the happiest ever to not have to deal with the feet of snow back up north. While some enjoy this time many develop a Seasonal Affective Disorder, commonly known as the winter blues. People typically begin to feel fatigue, depression, hopelessness, and social withdrawal during this time. Although all types of depression is serious this one can usually be treated by making a few changes in your surroundings. Below I have listed my top 5 ways to beat the winter blues.

The Top 6 Misconceptions of Plus Size Women

Have you ever had a conversation with someone and shared things you have done or wore and they seemed surprised. Although we live normal lives, there are some people that believe our lives are anything but like theirs. I have complied the top 6 misconceptions of plus size women. Can you relate????

#1 Plus size women are lazy....

Most plus size women are not lazy. We enjoy getting out of the house and doing activities. Just because we are overweight does not mean we sit on the couch all day.

#2 Plus size women are totally unhealthy and near death lol

While I do understand some risk factors with our health, not all plus size women are having health issues. It is very possible to be over 200 pounds and still live a healthy lifestyle.

Top 5 Reasons Why All You Need Is Yourself

We live in a world where everyone is seeking someone's approval. We grow up pleasing our parents and wanting to do things that makes them proud of us. That then moves on to being recognized by your employer. Our friends hold a great weight in guiding us to make the best choices collectively. And lets not forget with the rise in social media we seek greatness from people we don't even know. But, why is that? Why do we often find ourselves torn between who we want to be and who they may want us to be.

I wanted to share the top 5 tips on what you can do to embrace and be yourself regardless of what others think...

1. Welcome suggestions, criticism, and opinions BUT only use them as tools not as your decisions. Lets be honest we all need a little guidance sometimes but let it be guidance not your final decision.

2. If you want to discuss a topic with someone that you already know doesn't agree with it... DON'T! Talking to someone about something when you already know there stance on it is pointless. This just lets to discussions or arguments with no resolution so don't waste your time.

My First Iron Infusion

I mentioned in one of my YouTube videos that I was going to be getting an iron infusion to help treat my anemia. I have been anemic for around 5 years now and have not had much progression on it getting better. At a few points throughout the years I was up to taking three iron pills a day. I'm not going to say I'm an angel and never missed a day but my blood levels remain at an extreme low.

I struggled with all the symptoms of having an iron deficiency. Being exhausted was an understatement. I had what I called functional tired and non-functional tired. That is how I lived daily. I also had muscle fatigue, headaches, irritability, and more. When I moved to Charlotte and found my new doctor I have been getting all the necessary treatment I needed. My new doctor is very throughout and made sure I get all the test needed to figure out what was wrong.

Will I Ever Find True Love at This Weight???

I ask myself this question from time to time. Will I ever find true love at this weight? Sometimes when I ask myself that I have to just laugh. I'm not sure about some of you but I think I am a great catch LOL. So heck yes I know I am worth the true love I desire. However, why do I feel like it might not happen for me at the size I am. I see many big women who are in loving relationships which reminds m that it is possible. What I have learned that it is not the fact that I think my weight is keeping me from having a man. It is the insecurities I have about my weight that is trickling into my want of a relationship.

When we want something, regardless of what it is, we can often be our worst critic. When you find yourself doubting a situation that is the time to dissect why you are feeling that way. Below I have a few tips on what I do to help in that area to feel better about plus size dating...

How Do You Love Your Body BUT You Want to Lose Weight

I've came across a few things that this topic came up. Typically it's a large woman that is either trying to or has lost weight and is getting negative comments from others. What's more surprising is that the negative comments comes from other big women or men. You know it's kind of crazy to me to see others putting someone down for making changes to their own body. I have never received negative comments about losing weight. The most I have heard is not to lose too much. That is stupid too! I think because those who are receiving backlash are people who are more known basically celebrities in their own right and have a large following.

The Excuses of The Big Girl

I have had a some great things going on that has taken up a lot of my time but I had to get back to you guys. I recently did some things with a few other plus size people that has made me feel some type of way being a big girl myself. That would be excuses from people who are of larger sizes. I have had my moments of when I didn't want to do things or I was scared to try things, but I have never functioned in a way of having excuses for everything. This actually bothers me.

Being a larger size I am all too familiar with having difficulties in certain areas. I have knee issues that makes it very tough to do a lot of things. Not to mention just being a larger size I have more to move around specially when it comes to working out or dancing. I also I have health issues that makes it hard for me to do things, so I get it. What I will not do is make my size be my excuse.

Top 3 Tips to Self Confidence

There is no doubt my self confidence fluctuates from time to time depending on where I am in my life. Currently I am not myself in regards to how I feel about myself in certain areas. Like many stress, anxiety, and other factors plays a major role on how you feel about yourself. Below I wanted to share the top three things I do to keep my confidence level up or at least try to get in a better head space.

1. Write yourself reminders. I have post it notes everywhere, especially on mirrors. Find an object that you will look at frequently like mirrors, doors, computer, phone, and etc. You will have no choice but to read the message when you look at that object.
