How To Rock a Crop Top in a Snow Storm

The weather is suppose to get nasty as it is giving us a mixture of snow, rain, and sleet...No Bueno. But, this is typical Syracuse weather so I am not surprised. Trying to keep my spending at a low since I have Christmas coming up, I am finding creative ways to expand my fall/winter wardrobe. The last thing you would think in my area is to wear a crop top. Don't rush to pack them away so fast though. You can still wear certain crop tops if you layer them right. I am having fun with this as you can see!

Textured Nail DIY

Ok guys this is my first official DIY project. I thought it would be fun to share as I plan to do more DIYs with a variety of different things. So today I am going to create a textured nail design. I am a nail polish fanatic and I love to experiment to keep my nails fun. For this type of nail you will need:
2 different nail colors and a sponge

The first step is to completely paint you nails with one color. Figure out whatever color you want to be your base coat and go over your nails twice.
I am a messy nail painter LOL

Once your nails have dried, you should pour a pea size amount of the other nail polish on a surface of your choosing.

Now dip a small part of the sponge into the polish. Don't use too much polish though. Make sure the sponge is covered, but it should not be able to drip. Clean off any access polish if that happens. Now all you do is tap you nail with the sponge until you like the design. The design will depend on the area of the sponge and how much you apply. This is the fun part! and drum roll please
....................................................................................................................................................................

And there you have it, a textured nail, just clean the nail up and you are all ready to go! It took me a while to get them exactly how I wanted them, but it was fun. I will be doing more of these and sharing them. Let me know how your nails turn out!!!

How to Layer a Summer and Fall Top

It is very simple, just take two tops and put them on.....LOL. That statement is neither true nor false as not all tops compliment each other. The summer top I have under my sweater is sleeveless and being that layers are trending this fall I wanted to find a way to still wear it. Usually you would put a button up blouse under a sweater, but that is not the only way to layer your items. The first layer should either be longer than the top layer or have some sort of collar you want to show. The top layer should simply compliment the other shirt. Yes It Is That Simple!!!

A Little Oxblood and A Killer Side Bang

I felt some kind of way when I figured out my look today, kind of boho chic! I was nervous about these colors complimenting each other, but it works and I love it!!!!

How to Create the Perfect Photoshoot

I get a lot of messages from women who are plus size models or would like to become a plus size model. Although Size Fabulous does not do anything as far as managing models, I do like to send these fabulous ladies to the right people or provide them with any information I know. Since it can be difficult to become successful as a plus size model, I want to give you a few tips that can help you take the best photos for your portfolio, blog post, website and etc. if you are in charge of your shoot.

  • Plan your outfits out in advance. Lay everything out and try things on to make sure all of your items compliment each other and look amazing on your body. Take a picture if you need to remember planned looks, especially if you are shooting more than one look.
  • Steam or iron your clothes. There is nothing worse than wrinkle clothes in pictures. If you are taking clothes to a location, it is best to invest in a portable steamer.
  • Make-up is up to you, however, if you are going to go full glam and you are a newbie to it get some one who is experienced to help you. If you don't want to go that route a great lipstick will do.
  • You hair should be neat. Even if the hair is meant to be a little crazy it should still look well put together.
  • LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!! Your outfit will look best where there is the most natural light. Outside is a great choice, but if you want to do it inside make sure you have proper lighting so your clothing true colors will show.
  • Your CAMERA is very important. You should invest in a camera that is capable of high quality/high resolution photos. Also invest in a tripod if you have to take the photos yourself.

As much as we would all like to pay for a bomb photoshoot, a lot of us can't. These tips will help you create your own bomb photos for whatever you need. Now smile for the camera!

New OOTD and New Camera Person

My life lately has been so crazy lately including the fact that I had to get a new camera person and this is definitely going to be a challenge until I get my new camera and tripod. That is why I have been lacking on my ootd post, but I am definitely coming back. Today was a simple day. I has been a little warm since this Saturday so I had to pull out my chinos. This is a very casual look, I love simple and cute. I have to laugh at the angle and clarity of some pictures...bare with me while we get this together ;)

5 Ways to Get Clothing and Shoes for Less!!!

So this morning I was talking to a male coworker and he asked me how many pair of shoes I own. To be honest I don't know the exact number but I do know it's a lot. He asked because his girlfriend has a hard time making her shoes last in the job market she is in. Talking with him actually brought me to the realization that I hardly ever pay retail for something. I am what I call a clearance queen and usually only shop sales. Those who know me knows that if I paid retail for something it was something I could not live without.

Learning to look fabulous on an extremely tight budget has made me research and be able to find great items for less. I am not a label whore so I do not care who the designer is. As long as it looks good, I'm fine with that. I want to share with you how I got my huge shoe collection and great clothing items for less.

  1. Sign up for company newsletters. Not only will you get first looks at new fashions but usually they will give their newsletter readers special discounts.
  2. Become VIP or sign up for a reward program. You get great perks for these services. Places like ShoeDazzle will give you a standard discount for simply being VIP. Other places like DSW will give you huge discounts on items through the mail for being a reward member (I just got a 20 dollar off coupon).
  3. Follow companies on Twitter, Facebook and etc. Companies will give perks, discounts and giveaways through social media.
  4. Always visit their websites and stores. Check constantly to see if something you have been looking at has went on sale. That way you can get it before its gone or if it was sold out, someone may have returned one and they put it back on the site or location.
  5. Reach out to the company. Reaching out to the company and letting know how you feel about their items can lead you to getting a discount on an item.
It is very easy to save money when shopping, you just have to put a little effort in on your end and build those relationships with the companies you love.

5 Thing You Need to Know to Recoup After Heartbreak

I don't post often about relationships. but I am compelled to post about things in relationships that can effect the way we feel about ourselves. After considering what I should write about today I feel like I should share a few tips to help you get through a tough breakup. I recently ended a 7 year on and off again relationship with someone and through this roller coaster of love I have experienced many thing you all can relate to. Being that it is finally over I would love to share great tips to help you through your journey of moving on from a relationship.

  1. Understand that you tried. If you know you pull in a great effort to make yo relationship work and it doesn't, YOU TRIED. Relationships are not 50%-50%, they are 100%-100% and both parties have to equally give their all.
  2. It may be cliche but EVERYTHING DOES HAPPEN FOR A REASON. Not everyone is meant to be and this break may open the door for you to find your true love.
  3. Sometimes it is them and not you. That line rings true sometimes. Maybe he wasn't ready for the same things you were ready for and that is ok.
  4. Do not blame yourself if they cheated. That was decision that person made not you. If they were unhappy, cheating is never the answer. Cheating is a coward move NEVER blame yourself for others actions.
  5. LIFE GOES ON! I know, I know it is easier said than done, but trust me you will survive and move on.
There is nothing worse than thinking less of yourself for a failed relationship and trust me I know what it is like to leave a very complicated relationship (including if children is involved). You should never sell yourself short for a relationship that is not making you happy and you should never risk your happy to be in a relationship. You want a better relationship you have to make the changes on your end to make sure find love with someone that is giving you what you need to be happy. Know your worth and never settle for less.
